## JEM-X and INTEGRAL Report (SB). Some survey obs. introduce large temperature variations over an orbit --> implies a 20% of gain variations. Check CAO web in case of analysing those data. Since oct. 2010, both instruments are working together. INTEGRAL to run until the end of 2014, next step is end of 2016 ? Review is this summer. ## ISDC news (LP). ISDC is slowly moving INTEGRAL scientfic personnel towards new experiments. Earth observation in rev. 1168-1169. ISDC is involved in may new missions, Ecuclid and Loft mainly. OSA 10 new software has been received from Paris. Still waiting for rmf/arf calibration from Rome team. OSA 10 alpha version online for internal usage. For JEMX is missing j_ima_iros, CRITICAL point ! OPEN POINTS ON JEM-X software: the two main points: 1. j_ima_iros 2. j_ima_iros_lc --> OSA 11.0 secondary points ? Heavens is doe in the fly ! Pere and I should try to use Heavens in our timing work or just Swift ? AI on me. Check Cyg X-3 lc evolution with Swift-BAT evolution, do we see the same trend ? AI on me. Could I use the OSA 10-alpha on ISDC ? #News from ESAC (EK)# No major problems apart from few solar flares in Jan, March and May that interrupted obs. Public Earth obs. in rev. 1169. Futher Earth Obs. rev. 1197,1206, 1216 and 1234. New SPI annealing: end of rev. 1176 up to 1182 ! EK movie, from mosaic images per revolution and smoothing them. What about the scale of the images ? It should be the same in both of the images, JEM-X and ISGRI to compare them. Erik is preparing a 3D movie flying on the galaxy to be shown on October. AO-10: oversubscription factor of ~ 3.3. Data rights proposal on 3rd Sept. 2012. 1st January 2013 AO-10 starts ! # On flux error estimates in j_ima_iros (NJW)# Used Method: maximum likelihood ! The background is cte over the image in this case ? Large dynamic range, NJW found some errors in the min. determination --> no yet consistent results ! # Correction for temporal changes in IMOD (NJW) 3 things in play for flux determination: ARF (same for all obs.), correction par. in the IMOD table and the correction of electronic effeciency in the low energy. NJW needs to get a consistent version of everything, taking a new look to the electronic effeciency. And produce new IMOD table. AI. NJW. Provide new IMOD tables. # Status for INTEGRAL cross calibration (NJW) Elisabeth Joardin asked for new data for cross-calibration. Not yet ready for a real ISGRI+JEMX cross-calibration ! # Recent Crab calibration preliminary results (SB) Analysis on-going. Spectrum looks ok. # j_ima_iros version 4.0 (NL) ## Prepare for the handling of event-lists and ligth curve extraction (re-writing and re-organization of the software). The individual events are handled inside j_ima_iros, using PIF. New feature is the improved images throught PIF-imaging discussed at the SDAST meeting one year ago. Artefact suppression: elimintaitn the strongly illuminated shadowgram pixels. Error estimation recurrent problem: case study: Crab fluxes. new version 4.0.3 to be deliver (talk with NJW). 144 Crab on-axis observations have been selected between rev. 239 to 966. Fluxes and their errors have been obtained using j_ima_iros 4.0.2 using OSA standard 32-channel bins: errors extremely small (?). For each channel of the 32 the WEIGHTED MEAN FLUX has been calculated for JEM-X 1 and 2. The mean value of the measured desviation divided by the flux eeror is found for each energy channel. If the error estimate is correct the mean values should be near unity ! However the found values desviate significantly from unity and MOREOVER they show a clear energy DEPENDENCE ! Flux error is changing with E, getting higher at high energies ! Questions that come to my mind: How the bkg varies with energy ? Or which is the characteristic parameter that depends most on the energy ? LP indicates not to release the new j_ima_iros until the error flux estimation is solved ! # Dead time verification (SB, CBJ) # # BTI Definition (LP) # Two BTI_TYPE: BAD_CONFIGURATION & BAD_RESPONSE.
