Subject: Collimator ghosts from the past Dear all, at the meeting I showed to some of you a figure from E. Kuulker's PhD thesis. Here are the screenshot plots from the PS file: They show the EXOSAT ME count rates from a raster scan of the Crab. The first plot was done using the collimator calibration of Gottwald (1984), the second using the calibration derived by Erik for his thesis work (Kuulkers et al. 1994). They gave me a worrysome feeling of history repeating itself ... I'm quite confident I could have passed off the first one as "JEM-X Crab lightcurve" :-) But if we take 10 years, I doubt someone will use our data inbetween! Regards, Peter
