make any difference at all, indeed!

   Hmm, on second thought: is the source _position_ identical between
the runs. Stefan's code takes the source psoition as found by the
imaging and uses this to model the illumination, so changes in that
position can lead to changes in the illumination modeled and thus
in the fluxes.
