Summary of JEM-X Meeting. 17th October 2005 Present: CAO, SB, JC INSTRUMENT STATUS: - Recent ECAL alert from shift team is just a fairly routine occurrance when the BACKPLANE15 amplifier becomes a little noisy. CAO to look at the raw ECAL data and ECAL result trends to confirm that this is nothing to worry about - Last week's Crab calibration went as planned. - In a couple of weeks, further testing with various HV settings will be performed during OMC flat field observation - Latter will use untried JEM-X TEST telemetry format, which may produce some surprises OSA 5.1 - Still no news when this will be released. All quiet on the ISDC front. - Would be nice to sneak better j_cor_position in with better/stronger hotspot removal included if possible - Problems with JEM-X analysis in Paris turned out to be installation problems, but no concrete help from ISDC helpdesk. Is this still functioning as well as it once was? XTE-J1739-285 - SB has discovered 10 flares over approx. 1 month period of activity - Recurrance time estimated at 3-4 hours. - Recent XTE TOO saw nothing in 12 hours so looks like object is quiet again - Peak curve (summation of 10 flares) indicates Type I x-ray burst, so object is probably a neutron star - SB's mosaic gives a peak position within 12 arcsecs of official position
