JEM-X MONDAY MEETING #62: 27/6/2005 SUMMARY Instrument status: Could do to order a drop in HV for JEM-X for end of July. SB to estimate when it should be. Co-ordination meeting: NL attended and two JEM-X specific points raised. Firstly, we want to be protected from Scorpius overload, but limit should be increased to avoid too many shutdowns. This needs good communication between MOC and ISOC, even for scheduled observations and almost impossible for TOOs. Secondly, switch-on procedure will be changed to remove the initial low switch-on since we no longer see significant gain decays at beginning of revolutions, only after unscheduled switch-offs. SVR and OSA5.0: NJW to finish SVR before going on holiday. NL wants to re-deliver j_ima_iros. ISDC is still waiting for ISGR matrices. JC has redelivered j_ima_mosaic. NL will write ISDC newsletter article about OSA 5.0 changes for JEM-X. Still some problems with position offsets produced by j_ima_iros because certain parameters set wrong. GRB 050626: Another GRB, but not in core program. This one belongs to the Russians. However, people tend to overlook JEM-X when making burst proposals, and are perhaps unaware that it can see GRBs. NL noticed that IBAS position determination consistently to JEM-X determinations. Crab calibrations: NL has looked at rev 39 where flux has an apparent decay. CBJ will also look at rev. 39 again. Is gain stable? Could the problem be with deadtime calculation, hot pixels, background, rejection criteria? At low energies see a decay in flux with time, and at high energies see and increase in flux, so could be a change in gain coupled with strict rejection criteria.
