JEM-X MONDAY MEETING #58: 23/05/2005 SUMMARY Instrument status: We've had two GRBs, one on Friday which we could see, and one on Sunday which we couldn't. Now in eclipse season, so cold start after perigee. Temp. starts at about 0 deg. and takes about half a day to warm up to 22-23 deg., and nearly a day for entire detector to stabilise. Unexpected switch off at beginning of rev. 317, hence OEMs we've received. Satellite is in good shape, lots of fuel left. Most fuel used to recover from the ESAM that occurred. OSA5.0: j_ima_iros redelivered. Fluxes still need better error estimates. Crab lightcurve sent by Stephane discussed: should be flat but is actually all over the place. Vignetting correction could be one problem, so could spurious sources identified as Crab. GRBs: GRB-050520 seen by JEM-X, IBIS and SWIFT. Clear pre-burst peak that's strongest in higher JEM-X bands. We should publicise the fact that we've seen this GRB or everyone will assume we haven't. We probably see so many GRBs at moment because we're not looking into the galactic plane. Crab calibration: NL still looking at 19 SCWs from micro-dithering to study effect of collimator and amplifier positions. Carl doing similar studies on ipf data. NL can see periodic position errors due to amplifier positions. Need to model electron cloud motion/spread to do full position corrections ISWT meeting 15-16 June. SB to go to co-ordination meeting.
