JEM-X MONDAY MEETING #55: 2/5/2005 SUMMARY Instrument status: ISDC connections working very slowly for ftp. HV has been set down one step. Long hotspot found by CBJ has disappeared again. Gain decreased by about 11% at beginning of rev. 311. 10.21% gain resolution for HV=78 (old value) 10.36% gain resolution for HV=77 (new, current value since 311) OSA 5.0: j_ima_iros delivered to ISDC. No sign when OSA 5.0 release will be - should be before summer hols. SDAST meeting clashes with grand opening of DNSC. Ubertini would like to hold a joint consortium meeting, probably also in June. Observations: Have observed ginga source GS 1843+009 but only one pointing in JEM-X FCFOV, rev. 308 pid=63. Hard spectrum with about 10mCrab below 10 keV, rising towards 20 keV. Silvia has looked at Scutum observations and found several known sources. Had an unconfirmed GRB in scutum are during rev. 308, part of GPS. Crab calibration: NL has put all 19 shadowgrams from the fine dither on top of each other, to give detector illumination and subtracted his back projection model. Radial flower structure, with 3-fold rotational symmetry can clearly be seen. Also see a dark inner ring that could be mask support structure. Ratio of obs/model shows collimator modulation and effect of dead anodes. Swift has been up a few months and seen lots of GRBs but they are very faint at optical frequencies, so could be `dark bursts'. Nyborg meeting: NL and JC have sent abstracts, and SB intends to do so too.
