Subject: JEMX Monday meeting 2004-09-13 Participants: CAO, JC, NL, SB, CBJ, ILR, NJW JEMX status: 2004-08-25 the DFEE of JMX2 was switched off. The gain increase of 1% now takes 12 days in stead of 5.4 days. More secure analysis will follow. Anode health: JMX1 sick anode 187-188 seems to expand; 73 and 193 are dead or very bad. A hot spot in revolution 233 (PID 11) has a light curve rather similar to an X-ray burst, the duration is 1s, quite unusual. It is confined to PHA < 100. Burst response. SGR1806-20 produces bursts that are very short and very intense leading to excessive deadtime even though it should be possible to transmit all data. The filling of the 5-buffer is the culprit. It was discussed how a software patch can mend this e.g. by emitting dummy events with trigger rate information. This will be investigated by SB and ILR. ISDC news. PK has got a position in VillaFranca as of January 1, 2005. This will put an extra demand for the SDAST people to take over some of his work and be more present at ISDC (more and longer stays). The replay of the TM data from revolution 225 has been done by JC with the help of Mathias Beck and SB. Data analysis: SGR1806-20, SB uses calculated PIF values to extract better light curves with NL software. SN1006: NL avoids usual 'clean' or 'flatfielding' to see the extended emission. The overall shape of the image is found by adding a large number of images. This sum can be rescaled and subtracted from the SN1006 image. GRB040812: SB looks at ISGRI data. Attempts to make energy spectrum. GX3+1: Erik Kuulkers reports in ISOC Newsletter. ISSW: OSA4.1 has just come out. OSA4.2 S/W delivery by Oct. 19, 2004. OSA5 S/W freeze January 14, 2005. Release March 11, 2005. ISDC consortium meeting 21-22/9 2004: Software developments and plans, dead anodes, effect of temperature drop. Science Working Team meeting 29-30/9 2004: New dithering pattern strategy to be discussed (proposal by IBIS). Integral Data Analysis Workshop 5-8/10 2004: We should go there also to learn about IBIS and SPI analysis. ESTEC workshop in January 2005 on INTEGRAL science and analysis. /NJW ---------- Niels J.
