Subject: JEM-X Monday Meeting 2004-07-26 Present: CAO, SB, CBJ, NJW JEM-X status: Addendum to last meeting: Switching the DFEE off in JMX2 caused a countinuous drop of temperature in JMX1 reaching 3 deg after 12 hours (then it went into the radiation belt). No visible change in JMX1 performance. It looked as if the temperature could drop even more, but the picture may be disturbed by satellite maneouvers due to the perigee approach. The occurrence of 8 MHz CPU state in the DFEE for a longer period: This should be reported as a "major anomaly" which requires a patch in the DPE software. This is being investigated (Gregorsz has come up with a solution). (quoted from an email from Soren) JEM-X1 was operating with the CPU mode 8 MHz, 1 Wait State during all of orbit 206 and in orbit 207 until scwin 42. Data taking included scwins up to 40 and started again in scwin 46 with the nominal CPU mode of 16 MHz and 0 WS. These data have a dead time which is 2.5 times higher than normal and the spectra look fishy at the lower end due to poorly understood behavior in this mode. These data should be used with extra care! IPF file transfer: IPF files from the instrument station are now copied to a directory at an ISDC scratch area: /isdc/pv/jemx/ipf due to a security risk by having the pc accessible from the outside world. Soren has made a script that will ftp the IPF files to DSRI (and move the files to a subdirectory 'sent' when sent). Soren will take care of the daily transfer, at least to begin with.
