Subject: DSRI JEMX group meeting 040112, minutes Present: SB, JC, CAO, NL, ILR, CBJ, NJW 1) JEMX status (SB) No reception of IPF files due to hacker/virus on pc with Instrument Status. The IS program seems to work OK so data are collected but cannot be transferred to DSRI with ftp. SB will go to ISDC to reinstall NT on the pc with security patches. 2) Next Crab calibration (NL) a) 5x5 dither (50 ks) where JEMX gets 9/9 packets b) 52 pointings, 2 ks each, on-axis and some off-axis angles + pointing of 10 ks on-axis for JEMX The date for this operation is not known now. JMX1 will be in operation afterwards. We need to follow this very closely because little time is available for configuration changes. 3) New source (JC) A couple of extra author names are added. ATEL will go out soon. 4) Source survey (NJW) Delayed due to urgent ISSW updates (e.g. variance maps). 5) Burst search (SB) In progress. 6) Lightcurves (NL) A number of bugs have been fixed and light curve extraction now works for weak sources (for strong sources the separation between signal and background is hard to define). Working on lightcurve for Ser X-1 which is a quite soft source. 7) JEMIROS (NL, JC) Runs on our Linux-ps (lin6). Results need to be scrutinized. 8) ISDC mosaicking (NL, JC) Roland Walter works on NL images but there are some strange effects (extra noise). 9) Microstrip Technical Note (NL) In progress, proof reading is underway. There is still a question on the quality of the intrinsic resolution. Are we seeing jitter and glitches or is there a gas/detector degradation? No proof for the latter. 10) Coordination meeting coming up. Perhaps the procedure to switch-on the HV should be changed now that there is no more an overshoot. Check JMX1 behavior. 11) List of JEMX configuration changes. SB has sent round a list and a supplement is on its way. /NJW ---------- Niels J.
