Subject: JEM-X Monday Meeting 2007-09-17 Date: Mon, 17 Sep 2007 14:24:33 +0200 (MEST) Participants: NL, JC, SB, CAO, NJW. JEM-X status (SB, JC): The hotspot activity has vanished. The anode at RAWX=140 seems to have slowly decreasing countrate. Crab calibration (SB): Will happen in revolution 605. Starting 100 ks 5x5 dither pattern as requested by SPI. IBIS has requested staring that will be executed afterwards and then we will have our starting period with 15 packets per instrument. JMX2 will be started up in revolution 604. There is a question about the TM packets allocated to JMX2 in this revolution. All of revolution 605 is devoted to the Crab calibration. FRSS data (SB, CAO): In revolution 540 the calibration source #3 starts to develop a shoulder to the low energy side of 22 keV. An anode that goes through the source illumination area has died which leads to collecting less signal. The gain fitting is affected by this. Perhaps we need to define a new IMOD epoch splitting at this time. In revolution 541 which is the first full revolution with the new source #3 situation is a Crab calibration where we have included all calibration events in the science data. This means that we have the possibility to analyze in more detail what happens when an anode dies with respect to the position determination. OSA status and testing (NL, NJW): We are waiting for the release of OSA7.0. The optimization of j_ima_iros is still going on. There are some systematic errors in the position determination. Also when determining the position from the images there are some systematic deviations from the catalog position. Coordination Meeting (SB): Peter K. has proposed a meeting in beginning of November in Darmstadt. Main theme is safe configuration. The MOC staff will be reduced and we need a good description of the safety procedures. Another point is the inter- calibration. A third point is the time correlation where there is (has been?) an error, probably by MOC. An IUG (Integral User Group) meeting is planned for end of October or beginning of November. /NJW
