Subject: JEM-X Monday Meeting 2006-10-30 Date: Mon, 30 Oct 2006 13:48:49 +0100 (MET) Participants: SB, NL, CBJ, NJW. JEM-X status (SB): Eclipse season has started. After switch-off of JMX1 DFEE there is a recovery error so that a 'manual' start was required. It is basically understood what is the cause of this (happens in beginning of each eclipse season). After start JMX1 DFEE+DPE work fine. This situation can probably be avoided by an extra off-on sequence immediately after last orbit before eclipse season (if there is time enough for it). This can be brought up at coming coordination meeting. Temperature drop due to the eclipse is not pronounced (much less than it could have been). SDAST meeting outcome (all): Minutes will be distributed later for comments. Some points: Better communication with more detailed problem/solution description is to be established between all parties. The documentation must be ready in about a month. CBJ will teach his spectral extraction to ISDC that will look into converting to ISDC compatible code. Efficiency with old and new rejection criteria (CBJ, SB): Are the rejection criteria set correction, now that JMX1 runs at somewhat higher gain than when the limits were defined? The diagnostic data reveal a strange 'kink' in the event acceptance band. A further investigation could be done in the upcoming SPI annealing period if we can get allocated a large number (40-80) of TM packets per polling cycle. The presence of a not weak source in the FOV is a requirement. Instrument model (PIF generation) (NL): The negative source peak close to a strong source as seen in the j_ima_iros residual images can be positioned at various angles and even be duplicated. The accuracy of the PIF generation will be investigated in greater detail. /NJW
