Subject: JEM-X Monday Meeting 2006-10-02 Present: SB, CBJ, NL, JC, NJW. Status for JEM-X (SB): JMX2 was activated in revol. 482 (DPE, DFEE) with old selection criteria, but strange event positions. The memory image 4.0 had been sent i.s.o. 4.1. When the latter was loaded (still in revol. 482) it worked fine. Tests with lowest HV for check of influence on gain relaxation time and HV three steps for deriving electronic efficiency with old selection criteria were performed successfully. JMX2 showed an overshoot in gain by 60% when the HV had been on for 12 hours at the lowest level, in stead of an increase which lasts longer as it is seen when it is switched on from no voltage at all. The outcome of this exercise shows that there is no compelling reason to change the procedures. The switch-off of three of the four anode-segments has not yet been verified. The Crab spectrum looks OK with CBJ software for JMX1. Report from ISDC consortium meeting (NL, NJW): The 'official' minutes by Isabelle Lecoeur has just come out. Our OSA6 deliveries: j_ima_iros OK except for parameter file and strange problem has appeared; it is being investigated. j_ima_mosaic delivered with all images in a single index file. The list of input images still not given in FITS header. Deliveries of CAO also OK. High voltage on JMX1 (SB): Peak channel of FRSS source #1 is around PHA 450 (JMX1) and increasing. We should try to see if the estimated times of anode losses are within high gain periods. Key programme observations (JC): Revols. 478 and later. Shadowgram studies (CBJ, SB, NL): CBJ has made an IDL routine that changes the mask appearence as a function of position in the image field. Sco X-1 observations are very useful. The missing anodes are not visible at very low gain (low energy) because of the bad detector position resolution. SDAST meeting (NJW): We need to send out an agenda.
