Subject: JEM-X Monday Meeting 2006-09-04 Date: Mon, 4 Sep 2006 14:33:41 +0200 (MEST) Participants: CBJ, SB, JC, NL, CAO, AH, NJW. JEM-X status (SB): No hotspot activity. Gain variations after switch-on (SB): Gain development right after HV switch-on can be modelled by an error-function. This function appears in solutions of diffusion problems and here we are dealing with metal-ions diffusing in the surface of the micro-strip glass plate. Crab calibration preparations (NL): The program is being prepared by Eric Kuulkers. Most of our proposed program will be carried out but there is a limitation to the TM rate. Will we get 2 or three packets - or even only 1 ? Crab calibration will only be half a revolution. The passage through radiation with low voltage on our detector to observe the effect on the gain stabilization process after nominal HV switch-on will probably happen before rev 483 (NB note a change to earlier planning). No response yet for the reinstallation of old rejection criteria. OSA6 (NJW): During the chat last wednesday where Stephane Paltani participated it was realized that j_src_properties could not be 'well tested and well functioning' before Sep. 15 - the deadline for a new OSA version before the data analysis. Comparison of PIF and shadowgrams (NJW): A detailed comparison between PIF maps and 42 summed shadowgrams where a strong source is found at the same position in the FOV within 1 arcmin reveals some significant differences between modelling and data. (Some of the effect is some mismatch between coordinate systems and the presence of dead anodes). j_ima_iros (NL): The BPL without the collimator cannot be made although formally there should be no big problems. The sensitivity in the images depends on the collimator model used as tested by various degrees of attenuation of Crab observation data. It would be very good to include the off-axis normalization as requested by Roland Walter in the delivery of j_ima_iros for OSA6. j_cor_gain (CAO): Has been delivered last week. But in NRT pipeline there are too many difficulties to include it just like that. There is a strange bug that only appears at ISDC and in some science windows. Reading the gain history table causes trouble. Earlier problem with data from an early revolutions where the Xe line fell at a too low energy has been produced with much too old j_cor_gain version as well as IMOD instance number. SDAST meeting date (NL, NJW): Will be found when Peter Kretschmar is back from holiday around Sept. 16. Next JEM-X representative at ISDC: SB in end of September (tentative). /NJW
