Gain Notes for Revolution 2024 N.B. The JEM-X1 DPE crashed during the first part of this revolution, so there is only JEM-X1 data for the last day of the revolution. During this time there was no calibration data from the JEM-X1 calibration sources, so the JEM-X2 unit had to be calibrated starting with the corrected gain history table for JEM-X2 during revolution 2022 This is one of the later revolutions in the mission where the calibration sources have become so weak that for the best energy determination and IC Gain History table is needed. To get optimal results with this revolution it is necessary to use the IC gain history. See notes in revolutions prior to revolution 1433 to find out how to do this if you don't already know. All offline gain/energy corrections (including the IC tables) are based on the two Fe calibration sources in JEM-X1, for both units. Latest OSA software (version 10 and higher) automatically cuts out the first Science windows of data from each revolution to ensure that people do not use data from the instrument-settling period. This process can be overruled, but only by experienced users. JEM-X1 rating: Very good (Xe line positions with 2-3% of ideal) CAO 22/11/2018 JEM-X2 rating: Excellent to very good (All points within 2-3% of ideal; all but 2 points within 2% of ideal) The JEM-X2 corrections are based on the JEM-X2 Corrected gain history table produced for revolution 2022 since JEM-X1 was switched off for much of the revolution and its settling period out of synch with the JEM-X2 instrument when it was turned on.
