Gain Notes for Revolution 370 JEM-X1: No pre-switch on. Much less noise and far fewer glitches than some previous revolutions due to the quieter space weather recently. Initial sharp increase in gain is due to ion migration in the microstrip plate that occurs when the high voltage (HV) on the plate has been switched off for several hours. All this is completely normal so nothing to report here. There are however two nice clear glitches on source one, if you're interested in that sort of thing. The gap towards the end of the revolution is due to a special engineering observation during the OMC flatfield when the instrument was switched to a test format that did not include regular science data or calibration data. Also the HV setting was changed to perform experiments with electronic sensitivity of the instrument. This period is now officially declared a BTI, and the ISDC system will automatically disregard science data from this time. The BTI is IJD= 2125.43 to 2125.56. CAO 10/11/2006
