Gain Notes for Revolution 337 JEM-X1: A quite normal revolution with fine gain fitting. All the data from this revolution should be useable. The Xe analysis shows that there is some unexplained residual signal appearing in the Xe evolution throughout the revolution which causes a strong upward trend in the the line's position unrelated to either the gain smoothing or the temperature of the detector. This would suggest that there has been significant gain suppression on the microstrip plate at the beginning of the revolution from which the detector only slowly recovered. This is possible at times of high solar activity, and the instruments were in fact all shut off during revolution 341 for this very reason. It is recommmended that this revolution not be used for applications requiring good gain determination. Also note that this was one of the last revolutions with a pre-switch on with HV three steps below its nominal value. Gain smoothing is fine. Note the very fine example of a glitch on source 1. JEM-X2: No scientific data or gain history data for this unit. CAO 3/07/2008
