Gain Notes for Revolution 297 A completely ordinary revolution. Gain smoothing is fine. All data from this revolution should be useable. First two points in data set are pre-switch on of High Voltage at 3 steps below its nominal setting. Xe line analysis shows that the gain correction for this revolution lies a little too high (about 0.4 keV too high; ~1%). There is no clear explanation for this since there is fine gain smoothing throughout the revolution, which suggests that some form of hidden gain suppression has occurred at one of the calibration areas on the plate. However the increase is quite small so all of this data is fine for science analysis so long as users bear in mind that small increases in energy in this revolution, compared to others, are not significant.
