Gain Notes for Revolution 249 JEM-X1: A quite normal revolution with fine gain smoothing. All data from this revolution should be useable, though there may be some loss of resolution during periods where gain is changing rapidly. The first two points of each data set are the partial switch-on with the High Voltage 3 steps below its nominal value. The revolution is interrupted by a short break that graphically demonstrates the effect of fast relaxation due to charging of the microstrip plate. This occurs after the short switch-off and caused a dramatic decrease in gain as the plate charge reaches equilibrium again. Note that the range of channel numbers in these plots of Fe and Cd line positions is larger than for all the other graphs, to accomodate the large increase in gain caused by relaxation during the switch-off.
