At the beginning of every revolution an electronic calibration is performed to test the behaviour of all 43 amplifiers that provide the input signals to the onboard software: 20 Backplane, 11 Cathode, 4 Fast, 4 Slow and 4 Veto. The data is processed in the Revolution File Pipeline using j_calib_adc, which fits a straight line to the data from each amplifier. If the offset, slope, null value or chi-squared of these fits fall outside the bounds specified in the Instrument Model Group table JMXi-ECAL-MOD, then an alert is raised in the operations room at ISDC. Thus far all amplifiers have performed as expected, and no deterioration in their behaviour has been observed. However, for both units Backplanes 5 and 15 are consistently more noisy, more variable and less linear than all the other amplifiers. This is not an intrinsic property of the electronic components themselves, but a result of the electronic environment around them due to their positions in the onboard circuitry. Y axis scales are chosen so that all the data from one set of amplifiers (backplanes, cathodes, fast, slow, veto) share the same scales but appear in sufficient detail.
