SDAST CHAT #115: Wednesday 30th August 2006 Participants: Silvia Martinez-Nunez, Stephane Paltani, Jerome Chenevez, Carol Anne Oxborrow, Niels-Joergen Westergaard Subjects discussed: 1) Status of OSA 6.0 deliveries: -j_cor_gain has been delivered once but has integration problems to do with including a new data structure (JMXi-GAIN-SCP) in the SWG. This requires updates of many ISDC components, including PreProcessing. A new delivery will be made this week with a bug fix and a better way of handling missing SCP data structures. - j_cor_position and j_dead_time_calc, which require far smaller changes will be delivered as quickly as possible once j_cor_gain has been delivered. - j_src_properties has developed considerably and runs, but the results are not terribly good. NL and NJW are working hard to improve performance but will not be ready by September 15. The next OSA release (whether 5.2 or 6.0) will have to be without this component since NL and NJW would prefer to wait to have an improved version rather than release the component as it now stands. This is less confusing for the users. - j_ima_iros will be ready in time for the next OSA release - Silvia has integrated j_cor_gain 7.1 into her scripts, but will not be able to work on them between 11th and 16th September. - Mosaicking still has one outstanding SPR to do with VIGNDOL parameter but this can easily be completed for OSA release, though will need some co-ordination with script development. 2) ISDC representative rotation. Last person to visit ISDC was NJW in June. Next scheduled representatives are Soeren and Carl who can decide amongst themselves who takes the rotation in September. No plans after October when NL is scheduled. 3) ISDC data analysis workshop. CAO thinks someone from SDAST should be present at the workshop to present all the options available to users with the JEM-X ISSW, and also discuss problems and limitations of the results. Perhaps NL could do this as part of his ISDC rotation in October. 4) ADD updates for OSA 6.0 - not discussed until software is delivered. 5) Next SDAST meeting - meeting will be in Copenhagen, 1st week of October, specifically 3rd, 4th and 5th, are all possible days. When to start the meeting depends on when Stephane and Silvia can get flights. Silvia and Peter will have to arrive the day before. Stephane can if needed arrive on first day of meeting. 6) AI list. The following AIs are closed: AI35_8, AI35_9, AI35_11, AI35_12, AI35_13, AI35_14, AI060607_1, AI060607_2, AI060607_3, AI060607_4, AI060607_5 7) AOB - JC announced that a new source MAY have been found by JEM-X, but we'd have to wait till he'd confirmed this before getting further information. -Next chat meeting will be Wednesday 20th September 2006
