(That's a software development technique about which we had a seminar recently) END On background - mosaics are with Roland who was trying to include all the functionality into image_mosaic. END > That's sounds good - I heard about it on a course a while back END > What about scientific results? What about future desires for the software - > desires from the astronomers, that is, not the developers. END I suggest to discuss about the scientific limitations of the software we will use for the 5th INTEGRAL Workshop presentations END Which results could we trust ? END > That sounds good too. END That's a slippery question indeed :-) END > So lots to discuss! END Could we have a short presentation from Peter about the different tools and other special environment available at ISDC? END Good idea, Jérôme END Agreeeeeee. END You're depriving yourself of the fun of being an explorer ... but as you wish :-) END The universe is too big!!! END Y Y Y OK > Next, Peter: > AI26.3 PK 22 Aug 2003 Verify that systematic variations in found OPEN positions of sources are related to the source's off-axis angle > Has this been verified, and if not, do we still need to verify it? END I still need to recheck this with the OSA3 software. Keep it open, it's on my to-do-soon list as part of the overall scientific validation. ENM END > New due date please Peter END > Okay, I'll just put end of November. END Corrrect. END > One for Peter (if he's still with us, and one for Sami to chew over): > AI26.4 PK 22 Aug 2003 Check that relevant data structures are OPEN XRONOS compatible, if possible, and write SCREWs for those that could be but aren't AI26.5 SM 31 Aug 2003 Check that the data he's using for BKG OPEN modelling is -COR data that includes Carl's SPAG and JC's anode corrections > Finished or needing new due dates chaps? END That one should be finished. END AI 26.5 is closed. I have run the analysis of my bkg with new corrections. END > AI26.6 PK,NJW 31 Aug 2003 Find out how to calculate and implement OPEN different response functions for different data-taking modes > SO PK and NJW, how's this going? END Ahem, nothing happened up to now, I fear ... END > New due date then, please END Maybe we should try to come with proposals for our meeting. END What do you think Niels Jørgen? END > That's a good idea END > This one's really for NL, but NJW could possibly tell us how it's coming on Yes, let's do that END > and whether it's still relevant: > AI26.7 NL 31 Aug 2003 Make a new vignetting table (JMXI-VIGN-MOD) OPEN with improved resolution, down to a step size of 5% (?) Niels is halfway there. He has some result for his and Carl's images. END (he is at some SPC etc. meeting) END > So it's still relevant and ongoing? I'll put end of November as new due > date. END > How's this coming along? Ongoing, cancelled, forgotten? END > This one's for you NJW: > AI26.9 NJW 31 Aug 2003 Look into making shadowgrams not based on OPEN weighted events, to handle grey filter I forgot what they should not be based on END weighted events, to handle grey filter > Perhaps part of the AI includes finding out what else they could be > based on: when's the new due date? END Is that "not" correct?? END Not done yet but still valid. Due mid-December 2003 END > As I remember the meeting NL was very much against event weighting because > it introduces a great deal of noise, where one photon stands in for many, > so I believe the `NOT' is not only correct, but the nub of the matter. END > Mid-December it is. END > One for PK, and one for me: > AI26.10 PK 31 Aug 2003 Look into creation of new DAL3JEMX function OPEN to calculate fractional exposure AI26.11 CAO 31 Aug 2003 Check that deadtime logic works correctly OPEN for grey filtering and buffer flushing > For my part this has not been looked into at all, I'll give it a new due date > in a month's time, if that's okay with the rest of you. GRS 1915 > How's it going NJW? END Not done but will be during this month END > One for Peter: > AI031029_2 PK 7/11/2003 Send CAO area and constant name for the OPEN the ideal detector area used to normalise fluxes This one has been rendered obsolete because we have decided to use 100 cm2 finally -> closed END > Thanks for getting that straight - I didn't know if it'd been decided or > just discussed a lot. What do you want the constant to be called? END How about J_NORM_AREA ? END > Closed and put into jemx.h. END OK. END > The last AI's about the circular review, which begins as soon as I send > you all the review version of ADD 8.0 (hopefully on Friday). END > So any comments? END N. END N N N > Next on this agenda: ISDC rotation - your chance to complain directly to N > Jerome! END I am very sorry to tell you, that I have changed my mind regarding this issue. I am having a really hard time trying to write my PhD Thesis and I should focus on it, because it has to be ready by spring. Therefore I decide to be involved in other issues at least as possible, and I will apreciate to travel to ISDC as JEM-X representant as the others. Of course, I will do some staies by my own to ISDC to discuss with Peter about the thesis, but only to work 100% of my time on it. I am so sorry, but I really need to focus on the Thesis ! END Ok Silvia. Then I am going to make a new plan and circulate it... Other comments? END Merci Jerome ! END N > Don't you mean: Mercy Jerome!!! END :-)) > Anyone want to put limitations on when they can be in ISDC: holidays, I agree that :) END > prior meetings, birthdays, weddings etc. I suggest you speak up now so that > JC doesn't have to keep doing this thing over and over. END I will base the new plan on the last I sent by email, just putting Silvia as the other. I think you guys _should_ be here on your birthdays and throw parties :-) END That means we all be at ISDC more often tha in the previuos plan, but not so often anyway. I have a bunch of limitations. have to send them by mail Jerome. END Yes Stefan. I take acoount of that. END > I think somewhat more often than in the previous plan would be quite > acceptable. My birthday's March 31st and I'd love to be in Geneva to > celebrate it since my husband often forgets, and that's very depressing. END Roger. > Any more comments? My son's birthday is April 18th and I HAVE to be home > for that whole week, ditto September 25th. END Please every body. Send me an email ASAP with your preferences. Thanks. END > Okay, if no more comments: next agenda point is 5th INTEGRAL workshop. > Comments? END Are all of us going to attend ? END I am END I will. END I will END Shall we plan at least one SDAST-evening party (restaurant...)? END > It would be hard for me to be away for a whole week: and it's be a perfect > time for me to work on Planck. Just send the guys off with my poster....END > Good idea! END The SDAST party is a good idea - assuming you also accept bystanders like Baerbel ... END > I'm really tempted to come now....END You Germans are going to guide us in Munchen then! END We'll somehwo manage. END > I'll look into the childcare possiblities from my mother's side END > Any more comments? END N N N > Okay, last agenda point before AOB: status for OSA 3.0. N > Have we all delivered the necessaries now? What's the presumed release OSA 3.0 is strongly expected to be out by end of November. There is a lot of effort ongoing to make that happen. > date Peter? Anyone doing beta testing of the package sent by Peter > today? END To Peter - I will implemented the SPR ASASP. But should I deliver now or wait a bit - just in case we have other small bug ? END In principle, all required updates are there and the software is frozen. In practice, I think we'll still see at least one bugfix update. END To Silvia: if the SPR is accepted then please deliver soon, but I have also two requests for the GUI: IMA_angleLimit and BIN_I_backCorr should be visible parameters. END I could write a SCREW, but maybe you could make these par file changes without that. END A question to all of you: To Peter - OK, I will do the changes. I do not think a SCREW is needed ! END Should we have the scripts always make the shadowgram use BKG model data, if it was created? At the moment that is independent. END > I think that should be a user option....but then I never get that far up > the pipeline. END Should that be decided now. I guess that the evaluation will show what is best END I agree with NJ. END OK. END > I agree with NJW too. Perhaps we should n't rush into anything now - we > can discuss it at the meeting. END > Any more comments? END N N > AOB anyone? END NO. N. N No Wait - one piece of info: many of us assume that we'll have to do an OSA "patch" or minor release in mid January to take care of the problems we find in the next weeks that can't be fixed immediately. END The next full OSA release won't be there before April, given the date of the Munich meeting. END > That's fine with me - I've got some niggly little SCREWs that could do with > tackling soon - but then, like I say, I never get very far up the pipeline > anyway......END May I ask: How many OSA release do you think are planned, or foreseen...? Two per year until ... who knows? Maintaing software is a continuing job. END That's main releases. Some minor ones will probably be added. END And you not even sale them...! > If they sold the software, they might have to start paying us real > wages! END I am leavng to take lunch ! Chat with all of your next week ! Have a nice afternoon ! END *** silvia has left channel #jemxadr : (silvia) > Well, if there's no more comments: thanks for a very productive chat, > let's do it again next week, when the major attraction will be: > preliminary comments on ADD and Valencia agenda. See you then! END Bye Bye *** njw has left channel #jemxadr : (njw) Yeah!
